Directions to Puako
From the airport, turn left (north) onto Highway 19. Puako is 22 and half miles from the airport.
At about 19 miles is a helicopter port on the right and a stoplight. This is the Waikoloa intersection.
Keep going straight. You will pass Mauna Lani Hotel on the left. The next turn to the left is Puako.
There is a green and white sign that says “Puako 1 mile”. The turn is to the left but it is less than one mile ahead. (If you get to Hapuna State Park or the Mauna Kea Hotel, you have missed it). Take that turn, which is Puako Beach Drive.
Follow the road straight down into Puako. You will pass a “transfer station” with green and white sign on the left, a boat harbor on the right, then coming down into Puako, the Puako General Store on the left.
Please drive slowly through this neighborhood, as there are kids on bikes, dogs, joggers and babies in strollers.
